The VAVP-NVA Pain Congress 2026 brings together pain specialists from Belgium and the Netherlands for a day of scientific exchange, debate and cross-border collaboration.
Taking place in Antwerp on 21 November 2026, the congress focuses on the evolving role of the anaesthesiologist as a pain specialist and explores how evidence-based, multidisciplinary and patient-centred approaches continue to shape modern pain care.
The programme addresses a broad range of current topics, including interventional pain treatments, psychological approaches to pain management, artificial intelligence, gender differences in pain and the development of a national pain plan. Parallel workshops provide further opportunities to explore recent scientific literature, research methodology and approaches to improving the daily functioning and quality of life of people living with chronic pain.
Hosted at A Room with a ZOO, the congress provides a valuable platform for Belgian and Dutch professionals to exchange expertise, challenge established ideas and collectively explore the future of pain medicine.
