Care & Code is a one-day AI build day where healthcare professionals build their own working AI care tools, in a single day and without any coding experience. Aimed at doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and other care providers, the Clinical Build Day uses "vibe coding": you describe what you want, and the AI writes the code. Tech professionals and students join too, teaming up with care providers to solve real problems from clinical practice.
The programme moves from framing and inspiration to hands-on building. The morning sets the scene on where generative AI fits in healthcare, split into a starter track and a deeper track on safe innovation, legal and regulatory questions, tooling, and open source, followed by concrete stories from care providers who have already built something. In the afternoon, mixed teams pitch real problems and spend a single build sprint turning an idea into a working prototype, closing with team demos and an evening networking drink. The day is built around four pillars: discovering what is possible, connecting people and communities, building together, and giving each project visibility and a follow-up path. It is a non-profit initiative, with all ticket proceeds going to charity.
Fittingly for an event about putting bold ideas into play, the build day takes place at the Bosuilstadion, home of Royal Antwerp FC on the city's northern edge, with free parking and an informal, hands-on setting.
