Antwerp Convention Bureau unveiled a preview of its much-anticipated Antwerp Convention Bureau Ambassadors Programme on Monday December 2nd. The programme is set to officially launch in the first half of 2025.
The exclusive preview event celebrated an impressive lineup of initial ambassadors, key stakeholders, and city dignitaries, marking an exciting new chapter for the city as a global hub for international congresses.
Inspired by Success
Since its founding in late 2023, Antwerp Convention Bureau has achieved remarkable success, securing numerous high-profile conferences across Antwerp’s core sectors, including port and logistics, medical, and chemical industries. These wins inspired the creation of the Ambassador Programme to harness local expertise and international connections, whilst elevating Antwerp’s reputation as a premier destination for association events.
Tadeja Pivc Coudyser, CEO of Antwerp Convention Bureau, expressed her gratitude: “The remarkable accomplishments of Antwerp’s conference and event sector have laid the groundwork for this initiative. We owe our success to the passion and dedication of industry leaders, many of whom are now stepping forward as ambassadors. Their vision and commitment are helping us shape Antwerp’s future as a global player.”
Celebrating the Ambassadors
The evening featured speeches and presentations underscoring the importance of collaboration in the programme’s development. Antwerp’s Vice Mayor, Koen Kennis, delivered a warm welcome, highlighting the city’s unwavering support for innovation and growth in the events sector. Pivc Coudyser followed with a keynote address, emphasising the programme’s transformative potential for the city.
A panel discussion featuring ambassadors from diverse industries explored the programme’s goals and the opportunities it represents for Antwerp’s association sector. The evening concluded with heartfelt thanks from Ruben Verhoeven, Chairman of the ACB Board, who praised the ambassadors’ pivotal role in bringing the programme to life.
A Vision for the Future
The Ambassador Programme will formally launch in the spring, bringing together a diverse group of professionals, including Industry leaders, influencers and experts. The programme will strategically focus on Antwerp’s key sectors, leveraging the city’s strengths in port and logistics, medical innovation, and the chemical industries. Ambassadors will play a vital role in promoting Antwerp as a dynamic destination for global events while contributing to the city’s economic and intellectual growth.
Event Highlights
The event on Monday, December 2nd, held at AMUZ (a baroque gem in the heart of Antwerp and today a modern concert hall) brought together ambassadors, ACB team members, and city officials. Beyond formal presentations, it provided a unique networking opportunity to strengthen connections within Antwerp’s vibrant business events community.
“Antwerp has always been a city of visionaries, and this programme is no exception,” said Vice Mayor Koen Kennis. “Together, we’re building a future where Antwerp not only hosts events but leads conversations on a global scale.”
Gratitude and Anticipation
ACB extends its heartfelt thanks to the ambassadors who have joined this transformative initiative. Their expertise and influence will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on Antwerp’s profile as a global conference destination.
This evening marked the beginning of a journey. The full Ambassador Programme launch in the first half of 2025 will further position Antwerp as a thriving hub for innovation, collaboration, and world-class events.
